A little behind with this post, but we are so blessed and completely overwhelmed at the response to our Power of the Pearl Celebration. The contributions and kind words just keep coming! We had a dynamic group of mothers, daughters, educators, entrepreneurs, and leaders at our event to fellowship, socialize, and be inspired by Eloise Hadden. Mrs. Hadden is from Auburn, KY and has been an active volunteer and philanthropist her entire life. A retired home economics teacher, she understands and was happy to share how being involved and passionate about your community can both enrich your life and bless others.
Special thank you to our event co-chairs Teresa Perkins and Jerri Tarpley as well as Debbie Wyatt and Jane Forshee. Megan Wright was terrific in designing our logo and invitations! The Franklin Simpson High School Catering Cats delivered an amazing meal while the FSHS horticulture students assisted with décor. Special thank you to Taegan Strain, Emma & Preslee Kelly (piano students of Cindy Sopko) for entertaining us during dinner.
Approximately $4,000 was raised in support of this years’ project: Imagination Library which provides FREE books to Simpson County children ages 0-5 every month. We are overwhelmed with the response to our inaugural event and hope that each of our Pearls will join us in being positive, passionate, and purposeful about our community and its future.
Fundraising will be ongoing. If you would like to join us as a “Pearl,” visit our online giving site www.firstgiving.com/FSEEF to contribute or contact Laura Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
