Our first post of 2014, and FSEEF is pleased to announce that Kim Wren, kindergarten teacher at Franklin Elementary, has received the distinction of Excellent Educator!
Mrs. Wren’s nomination included the following parental comment: “My daughter loves going to school each day. She’s learning and she feels successful. What more could you ask for?” A student’s nomination stated that Mrs. Wren was, “a good teacher, nice, and makes me smile!”
Mrs. Wren has been involved with public education for 14 years. All 14 of those years she has been in the Simpson County School District. She currently is a Kindergarten Teacher. In addition, she has taught First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, and Title I.
Mrs. Wren was born and raised in Franklin, Kentucky. She attended Western Kentucky University where she earned her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and her Master’s Degree, also in Elementary Education.
“Seeing the sparkle in my students’ eyes when they have discovered or learned something for the very first time” is the best part of her job, she states. She is married to Zak Wren, also a Franklin-Simpson graduate and they have two sons, Dax and Max. In her free time, Mrs. Wren enjoys spending time with her family and teaching 4-year-olds in Sunday School at Woodburn Baptist Church.
Thank you, Kim Wren, for your dedication to Simpson County students!!
