Tim Schlosser

Principal, Franklin-Simpson High School

Mr. Schlosser’s nomination included the following student comments: “He has turned our high school completely around and made it a better place. There have been less behavior issues and better test scores. He is just overall a wonderful principal.” “Mr. Schlosser is very positive and works hard to do what is best for all of us at the high school.” “Mr. Schlosser has helped make our school a safer and more positive place.” “You see him every day!! In the halls, at games, in the cafeteria, and sometimes he comes in classes.” “He cares about our school and what we are learning.”

Mr. Schlosser has been involved with public education for 19.5 years. He has just started his 20th year in the Simpson County School System. Before assuming the role as F-S principal, Mr. Schlosser taught health for three years at F-S Middle School School, one year of physical education at Simpson Elementary, and four years of health/physical education at F-S High School. In addition, he was Assistant Football coach for nine years and Head Coach for ten years of the F-S High School Football Team.

Mr. Schlosser was born in Mayfield, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Murray State University. He then received his Masters Degree in Secondary Education and Rank I in School Administration from Western Kentucky University.

He truly enjoys his profession and his current position. He states that, “To be able to see students be successful and reach goals they have set for themselves” and, “to be able to work with some of the best educators in Kentucky” are favorite parts of his current position. Finally, he says another favorite part is “To see the vision of FSHS start to become a reality of being one of the best High Schools in Kentucky! One of his favorite quotes is from Walt Disney, “It is kind of fun to do the impossible.”

Mr. Schlosser is married to Mary Beth Donaldson Schlosser. She is an FSHS alumnus and teaches 8th Grade Science at FSMS. They are the proud parents of four daughters. Annie is a freshman at FSHS, Emma is a 6th grader at FSMS, Maggie is in Kindergarten at Franklin Elementary, and Sarah Beth is in Pre-School, also at Franklin Elementary.

Mr. Schlosser enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and family. He also enjoys working in his yard and garden. In sports, he enjoys playing golf and loves high school and college football.
