The Simpson County Board of Education, in cooperation with the Confucius Institute at Western Kentucky University, will welcome three Chinese teachers for the 2011-12 school year. FSEEF has committed $8,400 to assist with funding for this project. The Franklin Rotary Club has also made a commitment to assist with funding this exciting project as well. The Chinese teachers are Master’s level students from the Hanban University in China and will be teaching Chinese culture and language at Simpson Elementary and Franklin-Simpson High School. Students at the high school level will have the opportunity to earn dual credit from Western Kentucky University in Mandarin Chinese. FSEEF is proud to be a partner is such a global project that will expose Simpson County students to aspects of one of the fastest growing economies in the world. We welcome these teachers to Simpson County and encourage the community to embrace this project as well.
