Camp Habitat, a community youth service project Habitat for Humanity of Simpson County, received FSEEF funding for project supplies at this month’s meeting. This pilot program will promote volunteerism in the youth of Simpson County and help disabled, elderly or poor citizens in need. The goal is to enroll 150 participants in the inaugural year to work mostly on home improvements and minor maintenance issues. It is anticipated that 100 adult volunteers will be needed to supervise the projects and youth. Camp Habitat is now taking project applications, seeking donations, and recruiting volunteers and youth participants. For more information, contact Cendy Dodd or Marla Knight-Dutille, 270-598-1016. The FSEEF wishes Camp Habitat much success with this community project!
