2009-10 F-S Alumni Membership Drive Underway--JOIN NOW!

The 2009-2010 F-S Alumni Association membership drive is officially underway.  We are proud to say that over the past three years, we have awarded $17,500 in scholarships to four FSHS seniors.  Alumni membership contributions are placed in our scholarship/grant fund and dispersed within our school system.  NO ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS ARE PAID BY YOUR GENEROUS CONTRIBUTIONS.

We realize that the economic times we are all facing are difficult, but at times like these it is important to give to those who helped shape us into the successful business people, parents, community members we are today.  A contribution to the F-S Alumni Association not only acknowledges the impact that the F-S school system had on shaping your life, but also invests in the futures of our local youth.  We are helping them to form the same solid foundation that we experienced!

FEBRUARY TEACHER OF THE MONTH

Congratulations to Kris Fields, FSEEF's February Teacher of the Month.  Mr. Fields is in his second year of teaching at the Learning Opportunities Center after 20+ years in the military.  His students think he's great and understands what they are going through.  One even commented, "He would never leave any child behind."  Congratulations, Mr. Fields!Download Fieldsfebtomad

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Again this year, FSEEF and the Franklin-Simpson Alumni Association are committed to providing scholarships to deserving seniors at Franklin-Simpson High School.  Both scholarships are for ONE YEAR only. 

FSEEF scholarship applicants must:

 

• have a 3.0 unweighted high school gpa and 90% attendance record for first two trimesters of senior year
• plan to major in education or other social science (psychology, social work, sociology, criminology, etc.)
• demostrate leadership and involvement throughout the high school career.

 

F-S Alumni Association scholarship applicants must:

• have a 2.75 unweighted high school gpa & 90% attendance record for first two trimesters of senior year
• be the child of a Franklin-Simpson High school graduate
• demonstrate leadership and involvement throughout the high school career.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS LISTED IN SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION(s).  BOTH SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION AND MAY REQUIRE AN INTERVIEW FOR FINALISTS.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION TO FSHS GUIDANCE OFFICE IS 12:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, MARCH 26TH.  Typed applications are preferred.  Applications are in Word format.

2009 HOMECOMING--PEACE, LOVE, WILDCATS--SUCCESSFUL

Rain and cool temperatures did not dampen community enthusiasm for the 2009 Homecoming Parade and football game.  Hundreds lined the streets of Franklin for the 2009 Homecoming Parade.  The F-S Alumni Association braved the elements and conducted its first ever Tailgate on Taylor Lane.  We want to thank those alumni who came by for burgers and brats.  Also, those alumni cheerleaders were fabulous during the first half of the football game.  Hopefully, 2010 will bring better weather and our event will grow.  A special thanks to the Chaneys and the DiGiuseppes for volunteering their lawns.  We will definitely be back next year!
